Global Grading Procedures for Un-Opened Items
Wax Pack, Cello, Rack, Tray and Boxes
- Authenticity. Verify the pack is a factory cello, pack, rack, or box. Verify the print quality and wrap match a factory issue. The Global Un-Opened Library helps identify and confirm this process.
- Alterations. Verify the cello, pack, rack; boxes have not been resealed, re-colored, re-wrapped, or any other type of alteration. There must be clear and convincing evidence that can be articulated why an unopened item has been altered.
- Surface Condition. Verify the front and back of the item for wrinkles, missing stock, tears, creases, and any other type of surface problems.
- Gum Condition. Verify the gum to see if it is broken, if it is still in one piece, if it is stuck to the wrapper or card, if the gum is powder, or if it is broken numerous times.
- Corner Wear. Verify for fraying, tears, bends, discoloration, missing stock or any other type of wear.
- Edges. Verify for tears, fraying, wrinkles, discoloration or any other type of flaws.
- Print Defects. Verify the pack for factory print defects. Determine if there are print flaws and whether the print defects impact the overall eye appeal.
- Staining. Verify the item for any type of staining; look for water, gum, mildew or any other type of stain.
- Un-opened Seal. Verify the type of factory seal. Check the item for complete seal, partial seal or no seal
- Overall Eye Appeal. Verify the front and back of the item and determine if it superior eye appeal. Determine Final Grade.

- The items value (for insurance purposes)
Important information for Pack Submitters:
- Please do not use difficult to remove tape on your pack submissions.
- A simple plain plastic sleeve is recommended.
- Remove all store price stickers from each pack; failure to do so could lower the grade your pack.

- Use packing material such as foam pellets, bubble wrap to protect the item
- Ensure proper packing to limit movement within the box
- Include a copy of your submission form

Wax Packs Grading Standards
Global Perfect (10)
This superior example exhibits no wear or blemishes. The package must be wrinkle and crease free and also possess superb print quality. The gum must not be broken or adhere to the front of the card. Centering must be 55-45 or better.
Global GEM-MT (9.5)
This superior example exhibits no wear or blemishes. This pack must possess four perfectly sharp corners and no chipping. One minor print imperfection may be allowed. Approximate centering of 55/45 on the front.
Global MINT (9)
The pack appears to have all the attributes of a Global Gem-Mint 10. Upon closer inspection, there is one minor flaw such as a minor wrinkle, touch of wear at one corner or a small print mark may be visible. Centering must be 80-20 or better.
Global NM-MT+ (8.5)
Appears to be very similar to a Global NM-MT pack but will have a superior characteristic.
Global NM-MT (8)
A nearly flawless pack. While the corners appear flawless, upon closer inspection, this pack may have one or more corners with a light wrinkle or wear. There may be a few other minor flaws including print marks, a light stain, or light surface scratches. Centering must be 90-10 or better.
Global NM+ (7.5)
Appears to be very similar to a Global NM pack but will have a superior characteristic.
Global NM (7)
While the pack appears to have four square corners, there may be light wrinkles on all four corners. The pack may exhibit a few minor flaws including a minor tear, wear at all four corners or a small stain. Centering must be 95-5 or better.
Global EX-MT+ (6.5)
Appears to be very similar to a Global EX-MT pack but will have a superior characteristic.
Global EX-MT (6)
This pack may have four corners with light wrinkles and one or more corners may have light tears. There may be light wrinkles on the front and on the back of the pack. The gum may be broken and adhered to the pack.
Global EX+ (5.5)
Appears to be very similar to a Global EX 5 pack but will have a superior characteristic.
Global EX (5)
This pack will exhibit one or more corners with light tears and may have four corners with wrinkles. There may be broken or missing gum, staining and discoloration of the pack. The wrapper may also be misaligned.
Global VG-EX+ (4.5)
Appears to be very similar to a Global VG-EX 4 but will have a superior characteristic.
Global VG-EX (4)
This pack will exhibit tears on the corners as well as small tears on the front and on the back of the pack. Wrinkling throughout the pack will be evident. Up to 60% of the seal may be popped. Loss of gloss, discoloration and fading will be evident. The wrapper may be misaligned.
Global VG+ (3.5)
Appears to be very similar to a Global VG 3 but will have a superior characteristic.
Global VG (3)
This pack will exhibit major flaws. There will be open tears on the corners and throughout the pack. The card stock may be exposed and a large part of the back of the pack will be exposed. 80% of the seal will be popped and fading, discoloration and lack of gloss will be obvious. The wrapper will be misaligned.
Global GD-VG (2.5)
May exhibit several flaws, including rounded corners, a small amount of back damage, staining and surface wear. Approximate centering of 90/10 on the front.
Global GOOD (2)
This pack will have major flaws throughout. Major tears will exist. The card stock will be exposed on one or more corners as well as the front and back of the pack. The gum will have disintegrated into powder and 90% of the seal will have been popped. The wrapper will be misaligned as well.
Global FAIR (1.5)
May exhibit several major flaws including tears and missing surface stock.
Global POOR (1)
This pack will exhibit major flaws throughout and card stock will be exposed on corners as well as the front and back of the pack. Less than 10% of the seal will be intact. The card stock will exhibit damage from wear, water, mildew, etc. The wrapper will be misaligned.
Authentic and Unopened
Packs that have been altered such as recolored and restored packs that have original factory seals and have not been opened will be designated "Authentic and Unopened". These packs will not receive a grade. However, they are guaranteed to be authentic.
Unopened Grade Disclaimer
Global Authentication does not provide any guarantee regarding the condition of unopened material. Due to the fragile nature of unopened material grade and authentication are representative as of the date encapsulated and are not intended to represent the condition of the item after the date the unopened material was processed. Extremes such as shaking, compression, changes in temperature, can affect the condition and grade of the contents in the holder.
Unopened Encapsulation Disclaimer
The malleable material used in our holder is designed to allow removal of the contents. To avoid damage to the contents inside the holder avoid excessive exposure to light, temperature changes, shaking, moisture, compression and other extremes. Care must be used when removing items from the holder.

Items Encapsulated or authenticated by Global Authentication does not assure liquidity or market acceptance.
